SEATTLE, Wash. - Jul. 28, 2003 - Cougar Mountain Baking Company

announces they are going to be in early compliance with the FDA's recent labeling legislation.  This new law will require packaged food manufacturers to declare the amount of trans fats contained in foods on the "Nutrition Facts" panel by 2006. "By the end of this year, we should have complete and early compliance with these new regulations on all our packaging."  said David Saulnier, Cougar Mountain Baking Company president.

"These regulations came at a good time for us since we are undergoing a packaging revision anyway and we're thrilled to let our customers know that our products do not contain any trans fats."

With a long-standing "no hydrogenated oil" policy, Cougar Mountain

Baking Company has been a leader in this respect and will be one of

a very few cookie manufacturers to be able to make this claim.
